Position Your Mindset in God's Promise

Position Your Mind Set in God’s Promise
Genesis 26:1-25
"12 Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a
hundredfold, because the LORD blessed him." Gen 26:12
In any pursuit of success, mind set positioning is very important. It may be career, or business, or in the area of warfare, positioning plays a vital role in winning and advancing.
Narrative of Genesis 26
1. “Covenant” mind set. Deuteronomy 28 outlines God’s covenant relationship with His people
Israel.
illus #a. Psalm 34:19
#b. Son and “access” to everything
Ephesians 2:5
5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace
you have been saved.
6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in
the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,
7 in order that in the coming ages he might show
the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
2. “I Can” Mind set. Many of us are scared to succeed because we are afraid to fail. Or scared
to move on because we thought that’s our lot in life. We were not taught to dream big and
fail big and recover big. We were told that to barely survive is good enough. Let us reformat
our mind set to “I can” mindset.
Philippians 4:13 New International Version (NIV)
13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
Luke 4:18-19
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim
good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and
recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free,
19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor."
The reason the Son of Man came is to set us free from everything that is
enslaving us.
Illus #1. Manna mentality. “recipient, dependence, barely making it.”
Trade it with:
a. Caleb’s spirit “Let’s go and posses the land because we can certainly do it.” In his old age he asked, “give me Hebron”
b. Promise Land Mentality. Pursuit of God’s promise no matter what. The Promise is a
promise of not barely enough but a land of overflow.
Joshua 14:10-15
3. Blessed Mind Set. Do not ask God from a beggar’s mentality.
Mark 10: 51 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.
The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.”
Conclusion
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do
than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain
Which position are you now?
Are you in the position of victory, increase, conquest, success, promotion, and the like?
God wants you to conquer your giants and the walls of the fortified cities before you that you may inherit your promise land, a land of abundance to overflow.
